Coolie, the action drama starring superstar Rajinikanth and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has created a superb buzz among audiences. The trade eagerly awaits the film’s release. Coolie’s Telugu rights have been sold for a record price.
Right from the start, there was good competition from top producers of Telugu cinema for the film’s Telugu states’ rights, and many were in a race despite its competition with NTR and Hrithik’s War 2.
Due to the actor-director combination, Anirudh’s music, and a huge star cast, Rajinikanth’s Coolie’s Telugu rights have been sold for a record price.
Finally, the movie’s theatrical rights are sold for 50 Cr to Asian Suresh Entertainments. This is the 2nd biggest price for a Kollywood film after 2 Point O.
So, to achieve breakeven itself, Coolie has to collect as much as Jailer’s full run in Telugu states. The film must emerge as a 100 Cr grosser in the Telugu states.
